Terms of Service
Last updated October 14, 2026
These terms cover your use of Datums, a personal log you use in your browser, and of Datums Sync, the optional paid service that syncs your entries between your devices. Datums is provided by Homaro ("we", "us"). By using Datums you agree to these terms.
Datums
Datums is free to use on a single device. Your entries are stored in your browser, on your device. You're responsible for keeping backups; Datums can export them as a CSV file at any time.
Datums Sync
Sync keeps your entries on all your devices. It starts with a free trial of 30 days of use, with no payment details needed. After that it costs $5 (USD) a month or $50 a year, plus any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal (linked in the app under Sync across devices); sync keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.
If your trial or subscription ends, syncing pauses. Everything already on your devices stays there, and you can subscribe again to pick up where you left off. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; a change applies from your next renewal.
Payments
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. See our refund policy.
Encryption, and what that means for you
Synced entries are end-to-end encrypted: they're encrypted on your device with a key protected by your passphrase, and neither we nor our sync provider can read them. This also means we can't recover your synced data if you lose both your passphrase and your recovery key (unless a device that's still signed in has it). Keep your recovery key somewhere safe, and keep backups.
Acceptable use
Don't use Datums Sync to break the law, to attack or overload the service, or to store data for anyone other than yourself. We may suspend accounts that do.
No warranty
Datums is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We work to keep sync reliable, but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost data or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; if a change matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA. Questions: support@datums.online.
